2006年10月17日、米国のコーネル大学は、Microsoftの図書館蔵書デジタル化プロジェクト“Live Book Search”に加わると発表しました。同時に、大手スキャニング機械・技術メーカーのKirtas Technologiesが、Live Book Searchのスキャニングを手がけることになった旨も発表されています。Kirtas社の発表によれば、2007年の早い時期から順次、Live Book Searchでのサービスが開始されるとのことです。
